    Privacy Policy

    1. Information Focus Period Collects. Focus Period collects personally identifiable information about you including your full name and email address when you click “Sign In with Google” and allows Google to share this information. Focus Period also contains data provided about Students by the School administration. This data includes your grade, email, and full name. The System is not responsible for data entered without your consent.

    2. How Focus Period Uses Information. We request you to login to Google and allow Google to provide Focus Period with your email to: 1) Verify you have access to an email inside your school’s domain, and 2) verify your identity. Focus Period requests your full name from Google to provide a name if the administrator did not do so while adding your email to the System.

    3. How Focus Period Shares Your Information.

    1. Personally Identifiable Information: Focus Period shares personally identifiable information to anyone in-charge of maintaining or working with the code of the System. Your personally identifiable information may also be stored on servers and in locations outside of direct control of the School.
    2. Non-Personally Identifiable Information: Focus Period shares non-personally identifiable information with interested third parties to help guide decisions to improve the System.

    4. How Information is Stored and Processed. Your information collected through the System may be stored and processed in the United States or the country of the School using the System. Both personally identifiable and non-personally identifiable iInformation collected about you may be transmitted to third parties across borders to other countries or jurisdictions around the world.

    5. How the System Protect Your Information. Focus Period uses Let’s Encrypt as its certificate authority. The System encrypts your connection using TLS when visiting the site with the https:// prefix. Google transmits your information to the System by a similar handshake using a secret text and public identifier on a Google developer account. However, no method of data transmission over the internet is completely secure. We cannot absolutely guarantee security.

    6. Information Access, Correction, and Deletion. Contact the School at any time to:

    • Request access to information that the app has about you
    • Correct any information that the app has about you
    • Delete information that the app has about you

    7. Data Retention The System is not responsible for management by the School of your information on the System. However, since the information of seniors at the School will be automatically removed from the database on the servers hosting Student data for Focus Period after 12 months of the end of the academic school year. This does not ensure the data will be deleted from other locations such as backups, Amazon Web Service products.

    8. Data Collection Requirements for System Use. If you do not grant consent to the data collection listed here, you will be unable to use any part of the System requiring a sign in.

    Consent

    By consenting, you are giving permission to process your personal data specifically for the purposes identified. Consent is required for Porterstone Learning LLC to process both types of personal data, but it must explicitly be given. Porterstone Learning LLC will always disclose any reason for and place where potentially sensitive information may be used. You may withdraw consent at any time.
